IMPACT OF WELL-BEING CIRCLES
THE PILOT
In 2021-2022, Happiness Initiative ran a research pilot study to measure the impact of the Well-being Circles programme.
The study employed a Waitlist Randomised Controlled Trial to measure the impact of the programme.
At the end of the 12-session intervention period, 142 Wave 1 participants (in the Intervention group) were measured against 163 Wave 2 participants (in the Control group).

Here are the results.
Significant Improvement in
Well-being Skills &
Well-being Outcomes
All 11 measures of Well-Being Skills and all 9 measures of Well-Being Outcomes showed significant improvement in the Intervention group over the Control group after the 12-session intervention.
Effects are Sustained 6 Months After the Programme Ended
All 11 measures of Well-Being Skills and 9 measures of Well-Being Outcomes are sustained 6 months after the programme has ended. The measures also remained significantly better than before the programme started, with only one exception.
Deep Impact on Self with a Positive Spill-Over Effect on Community, Family & Work
Most of the participants engaged in more prosocial behaviours after the programme. Those who are parents reported being better parents, and those who are working promoted well-being at their workplaces.
